The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G was presented today along with the rest of the Axon 30 range of phones. As announced recently, today has been the presentation of this new family of devices from the manufacturer. This is the range of phones that succeeds models like the Axon 20 on the market, the first mobile with a camera under the screen. The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G is the most powerful model in this new family of the manufacturer.
In terms of construction, we see a finish made all in metal and glass, with a matte finish on the back cover, which also has a large rectangular module in the upper left corner to house its four rear cameras and LED flash.
On the right side, it has the volume buttons more and less, as well as the on / off button. Unfortunately, following the trend, it does not bring a P2 connection for headphones, having only a USB Type-C connection at the bottom between the sound output and the chip drawer.
Looking from the front, the model should have very thin edges around the screen, which has a small curvature to the sides and a hole centered at the top of the screen to store its front camera. Interestingly, the brand decided not to adopt camera technology under the screen, premiered on last year’s Axon 20 5G.
The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra 5G has its main weapons on its screen and in its cameras. Its panel is 6.67-inch AMOLED with FullHD + resolution and slight side curves, but the most important thing is the 144 Hz refresh rate, a feature that is not new on the market but generally oriented to the gamer- cut smartphones. Also, its panel has HDR10 + support.
Inside the Axon 30 Ultra 5G is the Snapdragon 888 in charge of power, assisted by 8, 12, and up to 16GB of RAM, another aspect that is not new but is reserved for gaming smartphones. What is new is the option of up to 1TB of internal storage in the more premium version of the Axon 30 Ultra, in addition to other more traditional 128 and 256GB.
To close the power section, there is the 4600mAh battery with a 66W fast charge, one of the fastest today. Android 11 with the MyOS 11 layer is the operating system that is in charge of the tasks.
Now, let’s talk about cameras. The Axon 30 Ultra 5G has three 64MP cameras: one main, another ultra-wide-angle, and the third “for portraits”, that is, it is specifically focused on photographs of people and with a bokeh effect. The fourth sensor is an 8MP telephoto camera capable of 5x optical, 10x hybrid, and digital zoom up to 120x.
Finally, a laser sensor for autofocus accompanied by the four cameras. It’s worth mentioning the 16MP selfie sensor tucked up front, in a hole in the center of the top of the screen. On-screen fingerprint sensor, dual speakers with Hi-Fi sound certification, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, all in a glass body with an aluminum frame, close the sheet of technical characteristics of the Axon 30 Ultra 5G.
