On August 28, ZTE announced that its AXON 20 5G, the world’s first commercial under-screen camera Smartphone, will be officially released on September 1 and will be mass-produced & ship this month. In June this year, Visionox stated that its InVsee under-screen camera solution has reached the mass production application level, which means that commercial under-screen camera phones are coming soon.
At that time, there were various rumors that Huawei might launch an off-screen camera phone. However, neither Huawei nor Visionox responded positively.
Recently, Ni Fei the Terminal Division President of ZTE has announced that we will launch the world’s first smartphone with an under-screen camera. Interestingly, this report also caused heated discussion at the time, because no one thought that ZTE would launch an under-screen camera smartphone.
According to the official introduction of ZTE, the camera area under the screen of the AXON 20 5G accounts for only two-thousandths of the entire screen. The screen can be divided into 7 layers and the film structure has been treated with anti-reflection treatment to maximize the transparency of the screen and suppress optical diffraction at the same time.
It is worth mentioning that, today Xiaomi also demonstrated its 3rd-generation off-screen camera technology. Zeng Xuezhong, president of the mobile phone department of Xiaomi Group, emphasized that the 3rd-generation under-screen camera technology of Xiaomi has reached the mass production level and will be officially mass-produced and commercialized next year.
In this regard, ZTE’s head of the company’s handset business – Lu Qianhao emphasized that AXON 20 5G world’s first full-screen under-screen camera is by no means a concept phone. According to a digital blogger, the solution provider for the Xiaomi Mi screen prototype is Huaxing, while for the ZTE AXON 20 is Visionox. To know more about the phone, we will have to wait for the official launch on 1st September, just a couple of days from today.
