Following the official announcement, ZTE is going to launch the world’s first smartphone with under-screen camera technology, the AXON A20 5G, on September 1. And before that date, now the ZTE Axon 20 5G can be seen in a small hands-on video. Unfortunately not much is shown.
As you can see, the smartphone in the photo has no “bangs”, “drops” or a cutout in the screen. There is also no “window effect” when the area above the camera looks like a kind of window in the display and stands out strongly from the rest of the screen.

in addtion to the first hands-on video, on Thursday, the company’s Head of Consumer Experiences and Strategy, Qianhao Lv, has shared a sample image shot with the new Axon phone, which looks quite neat. Probably tests will first show how good or bad the camera really is.
For the core configurations, the ZTE Axon 20 5G will be equipped with a 6.92 ″ FullHD + (2,460 x 1080 pixel resolution) OLED display, including a 32MP front camera (under-display camera technology from Visionox from China) and a fingerprint scanner. A quad camera with 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP awaits us on the back.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G should work inside, plus there should be 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM and up to 64GB / 128GB / 256GB internal memory, which can even be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. The battery is said to have a capacity of 4120mAh and support quick charging. The ZTE Axon 20 5G is 172.1 × 77.9 × 7.9 mm in size.
Note that the ZTE Axon 20 5G should be the first such smartphone available on store shelves. Xiaomi also showed such a development the other day, but its first smartphone with a hidden camera is expected to be on sale only next year.
