Xiaomi Under-Screen Camera Phone Renderings: 120W Wired Charge

A patent of Xiaomi Under-Screen Camera Phone was authorized by the European Patent Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office last month. The patent document is titled “The camera lens behind the mobile terminal display connected to the front through a light guide”. The patent integrates the front camera into the lower edge of the screen to ensure the integrity of the front full screen.

According to the detailed description in the patent document, the Xiaomi Under-Screen Camera Phone integrates the selfie lens on the lower edge of the screen. The incident light can pass through the display panel and pass through the translucent element to illuminate the camera lens. The optical transmission element uses optical fiber or prism. In addition, it is worth mentioning that this technology will cost less than the perforated screen solution.

OPPO had a similar patent before, and its front lens was also integrated into the edge of the screen. And Xiaomi recently applied for another patent for “flip camera under the screen”. Various mobile phone manufacturers are constantly exploring new forms of mobile phones, trying to develop mobile phones with a perfect full screen.
