Every year, Chinese electronics manufacturers manage to create more advanced in all respects models of mobile devices, including those from the initial price category. The smartphone we are going to talk about today in the Redmi Note series is the Redmi Note 7 which will again be the number one seller in the Indian region due to its sheer price to performance ratio which is extremely high compared to its competition.
The device will have a notch display as the Notch trend is likely to continue in 2019. A metallic body will be in the cards, with antenna lines running across the edges. No pop-camera or sliding camera will be here as this is a budget phone at the end of the day and keeping the costs low is what Xiaomi excels. As competitors like Oppo’s Realme and Asus Max pro are offering at a much lower price. A 6.4-inch 19.5:9 IPS panel with the regular 1080p+ resolution and thinner bezels are expected.
Under the hood the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 which is an Octa-Core chipset clocked at 2.0GHz running on Kryo 260 cores, that’s further coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, Bluetooth 5.0 and better DSP to process better image output. In the memory options, you will get a 3GB/32GB storage, the popular 4GB RAM & 64GB variant and a new 6GB/128GB will be the top of the line model in the Redmi Note 7 series.
Coming towards its camera does not expect a triple camera setup as that will be too much for this price range. Instead, a solid dual camera’s with a pretty decent bokeh mode along with features like Auto-HDR, face filters, object detection, and face recognition will be present, as camera improvements.
On the front, Xiaomi could add a 12MP selfie snapper with an LED flash, which will also be capable of taking portrait shots when you take a selfie. Other things such as face filters and similar AR related things will be introduced with the Redmi Note 7.
There is a rumor claim that Note 7 will feature the same camera lens we saw in Mi A2. If it’s true then we can expect really good images in daylight as well as in low light scenarios. However, on the front side, the 20MP camera sensor will remain the same to capture good selfies.
The device has to has been running on the Android P 9.0 instead of shipping with Android Oreo 8.1 which be old in 2019 as we will most probably get Android Pie 9.1 update. The MIUI 10 or later will be there with Artificial intelligence breathing new life in this next-gen MIUI.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is expected to arrive in March 2019 or in early April, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro variant will come after a week or two. The pricing will be very aggressive and will start from $169 for the base variant while the mid-tier option will go for $197 and the top of the line 6GB RAM model will easily pass the $211 mark.
