Xiaomi is going to launch the Redmi Note 5 in China in the coming month. This has been already confirmed by Xiaomi’s product marketing director Zang Chi-Yuan. Rumors have it that the Redmi Note 5 Pro that was introduced on Feb. 14 in India will be rebranded as Redmi Note 5 in China. The handset has now received certification from TENAA in China and the images that have surfaced through it also confirm that the Redmi Note 5 Pro is going to debut as Redmi Note 5 in China.
According to the TENAA, the Xiaomi phone has a model number of MEC7S and the images belong to the Lake Blue variant. At launch it is expected to be made available in other colors like Black, Champagne Gold and Rose Gold The handset has a metal unibody design with vertically stacked dual rear camera on its back panel. The fingerprint scanner is also sitting on the rear panel.
The handset features a 5.99-inch display that supports FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 636 chipset is present under the hood of the phone. It will be available in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants. Its dual camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. It has a selfie camera of 20-megapixel. A 4,000mAh battery powers the smartphone and it carries support for fast charging.
