Xiaomi is planning a reissue of the Black Shark 2 and would like to show it in July. About Weibo has now shared a teaser, which should show the shape of the Black Shark 2 Pro. If you do not show the outline, but a part of the back, I have included the picture below in the post.
This design choice differs from previous models, which feature the stylized ‘S’ on the back cover with RGB lights. It is likely that Xiaomi chooses to place the lights along these vertical lines to highlight the model. The Black Shark 2 Pro will be an updated model of the second generation of this Xiaomi mobile phone.
In addition to the massive amount of RAM and the new CPU, the Black Shark 2 Pro is expected to boast a screen with an above-average refresh rate. After all, gaming mobile phones have been focusing on in-screen technology and Xiaomi should not be outdone by the competition.
In a Geekbench test result, the Black Shark 2 Pro scored 3632 single-core and 11304 in multi-core tests and features 12GB of RAM and first revealed the Snapdragon 855+ as “msmnile”. This updated processor from Qualcomm promises a 4.2% improvement in CPU and 15% improvement in GPU performance.
Xiaomi already announced a few days ago that this phone will be launched in China on July 30. Prices have not been advanced yet but considering that the Black Shark 2 is around $600-$650, it’s Pro model should pull the value a little further.
Asus did a good job with the Rog Phone 2 this week and I’m curious to see what Xiaomi has planned for next week’s response. Both will have the new Snapdragon 855+ but Asus has also installed a 120 Hz OLED display. Let’s see if Xiaomi will offer that as well.
