Xiaomi has applied for a new patent to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which shows a flip-type foldable phone similar to Motorola Razr (2019).
The patent was filed in July 2018 and released earlier this week. The Xiaomi foldable phone in the patent picture has a rotation axis, which is used to connect the two display screens owned by the phone, and the edge of the screen is also placed. With a magnet, this design prevents the two screens from turning on accidentally. However, this device does not seem to be equipped with a camera, and the relevant hardware specifications or key positions are not presented.
Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin unveiled Xiaomi’s first foldable phone as early as January 2019. This phone is designed to fold left and right, with a 3: 2 aspect ratio. By using customized MIUI and hardware, the machine can have a more compact appearance when folded.
