Starting with the Mi 10 series, every year Xiaomi will launch extra-large flagships named “Ultra”, such as Mi 10 Ultra (the Domestic version is called MI 10 Ultra, the overseas version is called MI 10 Ultra), mi 11 Ultra, etc. Each generation of Ultra represents the highest standard of Xiaomi flagships at that time.
Heading into 2022, Xiaomi will also launch its strongest premium flagship this year, but it may not call Mi 12 Ultra.
Xiaomi’s most powerful high-end flagship may not be named Mi 12 Ultra, but mi MIX 5 Pro, LetsGoDigital reported on January 24.
A high-end Xiaomi flagship with an oversized Oreo lens, codenamed L1, was previously revealed online, and it was widely believed that this was the rumored Mi 12 Ultra. Had it not been called the 12 Ultra, the flagship might have been named the Mi MIX 5 Pro.
Notably, the high-end flagship appears to be powered by a phone imaging system jointly built by Xiaomi and Leica.

A few years ago, Huawei achieved the world’s top image through the joint contract with Leica, and took a firm foothold in the high-end mobile phone market. Now Xiaomi and Leica can not only improve the photo effect, but also hope to further gain a firm foothold in the high-end market.
