Just now, Lei Jun shared a new teaser of Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 on Weibo. This teaser reveals that the phone will be equipped with a self-developed micro-droplet shape hinge of Xiaomi, which lasted 651 days. This technology uses an innovative integrated lightweight design to bring a smaller droplet radius, a shorter shaft width, and a lighter and thinner experience.
Lei Jun emphasized that the hinge is the core technology of the folding screen, and it is also the technical barrier to get the heavy folding screen phone.
The MIX Fold 2 also relies on this technology to achieve an ultra-thin body design. As we can in the official display images, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is very thin whether it is unfolded or closed, and even the thickness after unfolding is almost the same as Type-C.
This means that in the folded state, the upcoming MIX Fold 2 is infinitely close to the traditional candy bar flagship, bringing a huge improvement in portability.
According to the report, the external secondary screen of Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 bid farewell to the “remote control” design this time, returning to a relatively normal 21:9, and using a center punch-hole design, with an ultra-thin body, it has been comparable to ordinary phones. The user experience has evolved from early adopters to practicality.
