Earlier this year, Xiaomi introduced its first foldable screen smartphone, the Mi Mix Fold. This model is very similar to the additions to the Samsung Galaxy Fold series, but never officially reached the regions outside China. However, according to the Bald Panda, Xiaomi is preparing a new Mix Fold — the device would not exactly be a “Mi Mix Fold 2”, but rather an update of the original Mi Mix Fold, aiming to make it more attractive compared to competitors.
The first big news of the device would be the adoption of a 5000mAh battery with a 120W charge, offering not only greater autonomy but also less time in the socket than rivals.
The screens would also receive enhancements, now with both bringing high refresh rates of 90Hz or 120Hz, while the front-facing camera’s folding display would follow the Xiaomi Mix 4 by employing under-panel lens technology. If it’s similar to its brother, this camera should be basically unnoticeable, even if the photos are still low quality.
It is worth remembering that rumors of Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 have been circulating since the launch of the original model, disclosed by leakers such as the Xiaomiui profile, indicating that the Chinese giant would improve aspects such as screens and cameras. Still unknown, other specifications, such as processing, should be kept, considering that the novelty will only be an update.
