Just a few days ago we told you that Xiaomi had patented a device (that may be called Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip) really similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, a phone with a shell-like format that could become the second smartphone presented by the company to incorporate a folding panel of this type.
Now, thanks to Lets Go Digital, we have been able to see how this new smartphone will finally look, presenting a format very similar to the Samsung alternative but with some new features in relation to its cameras and its folding panel.
Thanks to this information, we have been able to know that Xiaomi will mount a panel signed by Samsung in this Mi Mix Flip, a screen that will be 6.7 inches diagonally and that, in addition, will incorporate the second generation ultra-thin glass UTG technology that Samsung rides on its folding phones.
On an aesthetic level, we can find few differences with respect to what we already saw in the Galaxy Z Flip. Xiaomi will also mount a small panel on the outside of the phone in order to perform some functions such as the quick view of notifications, answering calls, etc.
Another interesting detail is that, on the right side of Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip, we see how physical buttons for volume control and locking and unlocking would have been chosen but, without a trace of a possible fingerprint sensor that could be incorporated in another area that is still unknown.
In the renderings, we can see up to two different phones with an important difference in their camera module, one of them being in a classic double sensor format next to the small panel, while the second of them will incorporate a module in a circular format without a trace of that secondary screen. The latter would correspond to the “Lite” model, a more affordable smartphone with somewhat more modest specifications.
Finally, something that we must highlight is its photographic section. This Mi Mix Flip will inherit the liquid lens technology that we already saw in the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, thus achieving a triple camera sensor. Its main sensor will have a 108MP resolution, which will be accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP telemacro sensor that would be able to take pictures in both macro mode and telephoto lens mode with 3 optical magnifications.
As for the rest of the details, not much is known beyond that the Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip is expected to be launched before the end of this year 2021 with a price that would be around $1200, something that would make it the most affordable clamshell folding phone in the world market to date.
