Samsung, Huawei, and OnePlus are releasing their 5G smartphone with the latest Snapdragon 855 and Xiaomi is giving some tough competition to all of them. The executives of Xiaomi unveiled the news about releasing the Mi MIX 3S equipped with Sony IMX586 sensor and it will be launched early in this year. It was speculated that Xiaomi will be releasing Xiaomi Mi 9 but that is not the case and instead, they announced releasing an upgraded version of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.
Some information about the features of the new smartphone has already been leaked. Some features such as the slide screen design and the curved screen parameters on the front screen are same as the Mi Mix 3. Needless to say, Xiaomi had not made any major changes in Mi Mix 3s except for adding the front dual camera and the earpiece under the sliding cover but the camera area on the back of the upgraded phone has undergone a major change.
The fingerprint scanner continues to be in the middle of the phone and the back of the smartphone is made out of ceramic materials. As mentioned before, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will be running on Snapdragon 855, the world’s fastest processor with the combination of 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
The upgraded version of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will be sporting the new Sony IMX586 sensor and the triple cameras will be able to adopt the vertical arrangement. The back camera is of 48MP with dual 12MP camera combinations and the front camera comes in a combination of 20MP+8MP. The camera will be able to support optical stabilization.
Apart from these impressive features, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3S will be the very first smartphone to support 5G network. The date for the release of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3S has not yet been decided but it is expected to be released in mid-March in this year and it will be priced at 3999 yuan (about $592).
