Xiaomi has announced the arrival in Europe of Mi Mix 3 5G, with the premiere on May 2 in Switzerland through the local operator Sunrise. It is the first Smartphone of Xiaomi with support for the new generation of mobile networks. When he showed up at the MWC, the president of Xiaomi announced that “it would be available very, very soon” and the truth is that they have complied. At least in its premiere, because we lack launch announcement in the main European countries.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G is a variant with 5G support of the terminal of the same name marketed in Spain at the beginning of the year. It has a 6.39-inch screen, FHD + resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9 and reduced frames to a body-screen ratio of more than 90%.
Its SoC engine is none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with the addition of the Snapdragon X50 modem, which supports the new networks. It is a hardware that we are seeing in enough terminals with or without 5G because the modem is optional at the manufacturer’s need.
It has a magnetic sliding body system for cameras and front sensors in a dual camera configuration of 24MP and 2MP, equipped with a Sony IMX576 main sensor. Its back is ceramic and will be offered in various memory and storage configurations.
With Android 9 pre-installed, the Mi MIX 3 5G will be offered in two colors, sapphire blue, and black onyx, and will be available in Switzerland from May 2. The official price announced at the MWC was $672. It is, obviously, the first Xiaomi with 5G that is marketed in Europe. We do not know when it will be available in Spain and what operators will support it.
