The latest Xiaomi Mi Band 4 fitness bracelet has become very successful in the global market. It has made history in China, with over 1 million devices sold in just 8 days. We know, from the mouth of an executive of Xiaomi, that Mi Band 5 is already in the works and that it will probably be launched next year, perhaps between spring and summer.
Now, however, thanks to TizenHelp’s colleagues, generally reliable and accurate, who claim to have received exclusive information from an internal source, we are able to add some technical details to the account of the Xiaomi Mi Band 5.
According to what was stated, therefore, Xiaomi Mi Band 5 should support NFC connectivity globally and this, if confirmed, would mean that it could be used for electronic payments through services like Google Pay. This is to allow it to keep up with the times and to remain current for a longer time than the previous model, which instead is provided only in China.
In addition, company employees will be able to use the device as a work pass. All of these features now work in the 4th generation of Mi Band in China. The NFC version first appeared with the release of Mi Band 3 in 2018.
The release of Mi Band 5 is expected in the second quarter of 2020. Earlier, the president of Huami, which is the exclusive supplier of Xiaomi wearable gadgets, Van Huang said that at the moment there is no exact release date, but the development of the device is in full swing.
