The Snapdragon 8150 is the successor of the Snapdragon 845. If these rumors are confirmed, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will be the first smartphone in the world to operate under this new SoC Qualcomm.
Of course, this information is not yet official. We will have to wait for an announcement from the Chinese firm to confirm them. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to be launched in the first half of 2019. Rumors indicate that it should be powered by a Snapdragon 8150.
The smartphone should have 6 to 8GB of RAM. Its main camera would have 3 photosensors on the back of which the main sensor would be the 48MP IMX586 which was announced by Sony a few months ago.
In addition, the smartphone would also be equipped with a fingerprint reader under the screen and a wireless charging technology. Rumor has it that Qualcomm is currently developing the Snapdragon 8150. The technology giant’s new chip may have many similarities to the Kirin 980.
According to Geekbench, it should normally be equipped with four cores for low consumption and four other cores for high performance. In addition, the new processor should be etched in 7nm and have a separate neural processor for artificial intelligence capabilities.
For now, the firm has not yet announced the launch date of its new chip. In any case, we expect it to be located only in high-end products at first. According to the latest WinFuture reports, Qualcomm would also be developing a mid-range SoC lineup: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6150 and 7150.
