Xiaomi has announced that the presentation conference of its Mi 9 will be held on February 20. A date far from trivial since it is precisely this same day that Samsung will unveil its new Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10 +.
After a very interesting Mi 8, launched in China last May and arrived in August in France, Xiaomi returns to the charge with his successor, the Mi 9. The Asian manufacturer announced on the social network Weibo the holding of a press conference on February 20, 2019. This is also the date that was chosen by Samsung for the announcement of its Galaxy S10, S10 + and S10e. Xiaomi seems to want to show that the South Korean giant does not scare him and, why not, try to steal the show.
The image that accompanies the event does not reveal much of the smartphone. Just can we see the three photo modules on the back of a Mi 9 engulfed in a hull. In recent weeks, information began to filter about the future flagship of the brand. These 3 modules would be based on 48MP and 12MP sensors for the first two, when the third would be of the Time of Flight (ToF) type to collect spatial data.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 would also be among the first to exploit the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The latter would open the doors to a probable 5G version, since Xiaomi has already rubbed shoulders with its Mi Mix 3. The Mi 9 would be then also compatible with Quick Charge 4 technology to quickly restore juice to a 3500mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 would choose an Amoled slab of 6.4 inches diagonally for a Full HD + definition. An Oled technology that hangs over a fingerprint reader, as if cruising Xiaomi’s Mi 8 Pro. The leaks report 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the price of 2999 yuan (about $443) is mentioned. It will be necessary to wait until February 20 for confirmation of all this information.
