Chinese brand Xiaomi has released Android 8.0 Oreo-based MIUI 9 update to its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6. It has received the update to Android 8.0 Oreo, except for now solely in beta. The update was released for the global Beta branch of MIUI, a customized user interface of the manufacturer. this suggests that it is not an update that arrives through OTA with a simple notification to be confirmed on the stable version of the Rom.
If you have installed the stable global version of MIUI, in order to install android oreo you’ll have to go through the MIUI 9 global Beta version (7.12.14) that you’ll have to manually flash in order to join beta testing. only when you get this version will you get an OTA notification to upgrade to android oreo on your Xiaomi Mi 6.
