On April 23 at the new product launch conference of Xiaomi, a total of 4 new Mi full-screen TV were launched which includes a 32-inch base model, 43-inch, 55-inch version, and a high-end 65-inch variant. In terms of price, the smaller model is for sale by 1099 Yuans (approximately $162 ) while the 43-inch for 1999 Yuan (about $295). Already the 55-inch model costs 2999 yuan (equal to $443), while the largest, 65-inch, 3999 Yuans ($591). And today, we will bring you with a preview of the 55-inch version.
Xiaomi Mi 55-inch TV adopts a comprehensive screen design and its screen is directly attached to the middle frame. At the same time, this TV is equipped with a Bluetooth voice remote control, so you do not need to align the TV when operating.
Xiaomi’s full-screen TV has a super-high screen ratio. Using “customized full-screen LCD panel”, Xiaomi innovatively adopts the bonding technology to closely fit the screen and the middle frame, without the front frame binding to achieve a “larger field of view” full-screen form, the overall aesthetic level, and the craftsmanship has been upgraded to new heights, while the twilight metal texture lower frame and metal texture base are more pure atmosphere.
The back features a fairly big bulge that goes quite unnoticed if you place the TV on the surface. But if you wall mounts it, the entire TV juts out quite a bit. The advantage of this bulge, however, is that it makes it easy to reach the ports placed at the back.
The front looks pretty basic. The panel is surrounded by relatively thin bezels and a subtle Mi logo and LED indicator at the bottom.
In terms of performance, it is powered by a quad-core 64-bit processor, HDR 10 decoding, 2GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage, it has a built-in WiFi and low-power Bluetooth.
It offers ample connectivity options. You get three HDMI ports (one with ARC), two USB ports, an AV input, S/PDIF for audio out and an ethernet port, for times when WiFi isn’t working for you.
It is worth mentioning that the new products of Xiaomi’s comprehensive screen TV are equipped with PatchWall AI voice TV system. At the same time, it also supports a key to wake up the AI assistant.
The Bluetooth remote has the same minimalistic design with a limited number of buttons. There’s a new button that lets you switch between the two interfaces – PatchWall and Android.
So, At $450, the Mi 55-inch is a great package if the user experience and picture quality are your primary preferences.
