The Xiaomi Mi 14 series is set to become the first lineup equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile platform. Additionally, the high-end version of the series has undergone tests for satellite communication capabilities, making it the most powerful flagship ever produced by Xiaomi.
Various mobile phone brands, including Ziguang Zhanrui, Qualcomm, and MediaTek, have already implemented satellite communication functions through their solutions.
For instance, Ziguang Zhanrui’s latest satellite communication SoC chip, the V8821, will soon be mass-produced. This chip offers extended support for accessing high-orbit satellite systems through L-band maritime satellites and S-band Tiantong satellites. It proves highly useful in areas with limited cellular network coverage, such as oceans, urban fringes, and remote mountains.
Notably, V8821 offers hardware flexibility, allowing customers to reuse hardware resources from previous solutions. This results in improved deployment efficiency and circumvents the challenges of high hardware costs and time-consuming setup processes.
