Xiaomi launched its MIUI 11 user interface last year, and now the Chinese brand has confirmed that the next-generation shell, MIUI 12, is officially under development. This is consistent with the company’s previous practices when it announced new versions of its user interface at the beginning of the year.
Unfortunately, at present, in addition to confirming the existence of MIUI 12, the company has not revealed any details regarding the upcoming shell. We’ll probably get more information in the coming weeks. MIUI, one of Xiaomi’s key software offerings, was first launched in 2010. Since then, the company has been constantly updating its own shell for Android.
It is expected that the upcoming MIUI 12 will mark the 10th anniversary of the Xiaomi user interface with the launch of a number of impressive features and an updated interface style. Recently it was reported that in MIUI 12 the company will introduce support for the global system-wide dark mode. This was anonymously reported by one of the developers of the company, working on a new product.
While the company has already released stable MIUI 11 builds for most of the current Xiaomi and Redmi devices, it has started working on new features for MIUI 12. Back in October, Xu Jieyun, the head of public relations company, confirmed that Xiaomi has already started work on the new MIUI.
The recently released MIUI 11 is a big update for Xiaomi, which changes a lot in the popular shell. Starting with the visual aspects, users got slightly softer icons, dark mode support, the new Mi Lan Pro system font, and an improved constant display feature. There are also new animations, themes, wallpapers, an improved notification system, dynamic natural sound effects, and an alarm clock.
