While being interviewed recently Xiaomi co-founder and Senior Vice-President, Liwan Jiang reaffirmed the commitment for Xiaomi’s plans to released a cost effective high end device this year. The Co-founder also stated that Xiaomi’s plan to release high end products throughout the second half of 2016, is still proceeding as planned, including launching a high-end smartphone. He also hinted at a possible brand name change for the high-end device. This is a risky strategy given Xiaomi’s brand is synonymous with their quality of their smartphones. We also expect a fingerprint sensor, dual camera setup and loads more, we are only guessing what the price will be but it is expected that the Mi Note 2 base model will come in at around $450. We can only await the announcement of what other high end products Xiaomi have in store for us, being that Xiaomi are venturing into a wide variety of markets, including household goods.
