Xiaomi has reportedly launched a gaming sub-brand called Black Shark. It appears that the company is gearing up to launch its first gaming-centric smartphone as a BlackShark has been found benchmarked on AnTuTu.
The AnTuTu listing of BlackShark shows that it supports Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Since it could be a gaming phone, it is likely to house a 6-inch or larger display for unmatched gaming experience. It will be supporting an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The highly potent Snapdragon 845 chipset powers the 32 GB storage model of the phone that features 8 GB of RAM. This could be the lowest configuration model of the phone. Xiaomi may release 64 GB and 128 GB storage models of the BlackShark gaming smartphone.
The handset is running on Android 8.0 Oreo and it has recorded an average benchmarking score 270,680 which makes it the next best phone after the Nubia NX606J smartphone that recorded a score of 271,674 on AnTuTu. Rumors are rife that the Nubia NX606J could be a gaming phone and it may launch as ZTE Nubia Z18 or Z19. Its performance is event better than the Snapdragon 845 powered Galaxy S9+ that scored 264,257.
As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the launch date of the phone. Now that the phone has appeared on AnTuTu, it is likely that the rumor mill may soon release its leaked photos.
