Qualcomm has recently introduced the Snapdragon 855+, which should provide a significant performance increase, especially in the graphics area. Shortly thereafter, the first manufacturers have already announced smartphones with the new SoC. This includes Xiaomi with the Blackshark 2 Pro Gaming Smartphone. Now there is an Antutu Score published by Slashleaks.
Previously, there was only one Geekbench entry, which, however, only provides information about the CPU performance. Antutu reflects the overall performance again because here in addition to CPU and GPU other aspects of a smartphone are tested.
The device achieves exactly 405598 points which are 30000 points higher than Black Shark 2. The contributors to this higher score seem to be the GPU performance, which is perfect for a gaming phone. The tested Blackshark 2 Pro was equipped with 12GB RAM and 256GB memory in this benchmark. The screen resolution was Full HD + and excellent results have been achieved.
Apparently, Black Shark gaming is really pushing the limits to compete in the phone market. Thanks to Weibo, we know that the new device will have a redesigned back panel and possibly a whole new front. Will it come with a screen with a higher refresh rate? For now, this is the question in mind.
Things are definitely getting hot in the mobile game market. Although Black Shark 2 Pro isn’t the best-equipped phone, Asus ROG Phone 2 will face tough competition when it comes out the door. If Black Shark wants to have a chance, they’re gonna need something special. Snapdragon 855+ is a start, but we hope to see more soon.
The Blackshark 2 Pro should be presented according to the manufacturer on 30 July. However, it has already been pre-booked on Chinese platforms Xiaomi Mall, Jingdong and Black Shark’s official website.
