According to a digital blogger, Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone will continue to utilize a one-inch primary camera sensor, although it is currently only in the preliminary research stage. In the latter half of 2022, Xiaomi introduced the Mi 12S Ultra model, which became the first smartphone in China among major manufacturers to incorporate the Sony IMX989 one-inch primary sensor. This garnered significant consumer interest at the time. In 2023, more manufacturers will adopt the one-inch primary sensor.
Currently, devices equipped with this hardware configuration include Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Mi 13 Pro, Mi 13 Ultra, OPPO Find X6 Pro, vivo X90 Pro+, and others.
Overall, Xiaomi likely possesses the most significant number of models with a one-inch primary camera. Additionally, companies like Sony and Sharp also offer models with 2.5-inch primary cameras.
Unlike last year, Xiaomi does not plan to release new generation products with an “S” suffix for its digital series models in the latter half of this year. Xiaomi’s next flagship is expected to be the Mi 14 series. Reports suggest that the Mi 14, Mi 14 Pro, and Mi 14 Ultra may be unveiled at separate press conferences.
