Several days ago, we wrote on our website that work is underway on the successor of the relatively light mid-range smartphone Mi 11 Lite 5G, i.e. Xiaomi 12 Lite. Today, through the Weibo portal we learned more about the appearance of the device. The images below were originally posted on the Weibo community service and shared on Twitter by Mukul Sharma.
Based on the images, the Xiaomi 12 Lite is somewhat reminiscent of the top Xiaomi 12 phones. For example, the rear camera bump between the cameras has a similar delay as previous Xiaomi 12 phones. The Xiaomi 12 Lite has three cameras on the back, and the 108MP mark on the bulge tells you about the 108-megapixel resolution of the main camera.
The front of the Xiaomi 12 Lite is equipped with a flat-screen with a hole in the middle of the top for the front camera. On the right are the power and volume buttons. The fingerprint reader can be found under the AMOLED display as it does not appear to be on the power button.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite, with model code 2203129G as now in the new images, was also previously spotted from the GeekBench performance test database.
GeekBench data confirmed the system chip in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G series in Xiaomi 12 Lite. However, it may be an updated Snapdragon 778G +, in which Qualcomm has increased the clock speed of the most powerful CPU cores to 2.5 GHz from the previous 2.4 GHz.
In addition, the performance of the Adreno 642L graphics processor has been improved by 20%. Otherwise, the circuitry is unchanged from the Snapdragon 778G: the four more powerful Kryo 670 cores are ARM Cortex-A78-based and the four lower-power ARM Cortex-A55-based.
Other features of the Xiaomi 12 Lite include 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The monitor is expected to provide a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a quick charge of the battery should be successful at 67 watts. The software is MIUI 13, which can be expected to be based on the Android 12 operating system version. So far, no further details are available on Xiaomi 12 Lite’s planned release date.
