The Vivo Z5x smartphone has been launched in the Chinese market. The new smartphone is part of the company’s Z series and is of the mid-range price segment. Z5x is the Vivo’s first smartphone that comes with a hole-punch selfie camera.
As anticipated just a few hours ago, the Vivo Z5X sports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is an all-screen solution, with thin edges except for the lower frame, slightly more pronounced. The 16MP camera selfie is located in a hole in the display, top left, a solution that allows you to have no notch.
Its Hole-Punch has a Super Black coating, which should help to offer the least possible invasive look. Under the body beats the SoC Snapdragon 710, accompanied by 4/6/8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64/128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. But the real advantage of the Vivo Z5x is certainly the capacious 5000mAh battery, integrated in a shell of only 8.8 mm (4.1 mm along the side edges, thanks to the curvature of the 3D back cover).
The company has focused so much on autonomy, declaring that in 4 hours of continuous use the device is able to consume only 32% of the charge. We then talk about 21 days in standby, 40 hours of conversation, 16 hours of video, 18 hours of navigation and 10 hours of Arena Of Valor.
As for the photographic sector, the new Z5x features a triple 16MP + 8MP + 2MP camera with a wide-angle sensor (FOV 120 °) and a module dedicated to a depth of field. In addition to the usual improvements through AI, there is no lack of Super Night View mode for night shots and Super Backlight, to illuminate the subjects in the foreground.
The Vivo Z5x runs on Android 9 Pie with FunTouch OS 9 on top, The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4G LTE. According to Vivo, it will be offering the Z5x in 3 colors includes Aurora, Extreme Night Black, and Phantom Black.
The Vivo Z5x price starts at 1398 yuan (roughly $202) for the 4GB + 64GB variant in China. The 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB variants will retail at 1498 yuan (roughly $217), 1698 yuan (roughly $246), and 1998 yuan (roughly $289) respectively.
