Vivo X50 Pro will debut next week in China and promises a camera system with completely new technology. However, until now I only had speculations about the internal components other than the phone. However, a new leak reveals the entire list of hardware specifications of the Vivo X50 Pro, thus confirming that we are not dealing with a real “flagship”, but a model with a more modest configuration focused especially on the camera.
In fact, the choice of an average chipset is not exactly a novelty. Vivo rarely launches phones equipped with top processors. The company focuses mainly on keeping it affordable, despite innovating in other areas. For this reason, the Vivo X50 Pro seems to use the Snapdragon 765G processor, equipped with a 5G modem and compatible antennas.
The configuration is completed by 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage, a 4315mAh battery, and a 6.56 ”OLED display with Full HD + resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The 32MP front-facing camera is punch-hole in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Of course, the main camera is the most important topic, and the new list of specifications suggests that we are not dealing with a Samsung GN1 sensor, as originally rumored, but with a Sony IMX598. It has a resolution of 48MP and the new stabilization system and comes “bundled” with three other cameras. An 8MP periscopic zoom camera, a 13MP 2x zoom camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
The first information about the price of this model is encouraging. The Vivo X50 Pro is expected to enter the Chinese market at 3998 yuan (about $559). Thus, at half the price of a flagship, you get a new stabilization technology for the camera, which could outperform in some situations the alternatives. Most likely, this price will be for the basic Vivo X50 Pro model, with 128GB storage.
