Vivo must cancel the launch of phones within the NEX line. The information recently emerged with the leak of the new Vivo X Note (formerly NEX 5 ), and now other sources collaborate with the rumor.
According to Sina Technology, during a major product restructuring that Vivo carried out in February, it canceled the NEX division and affiliated organizations. As can be seen in the screenshot below, Vivo China official website has tabs for the X, S, T, Y, iQOO series, but it no longer shows tabs for NEX devices.
Besides, WhyLab says, the model codenamed Vivo V2170A will be the first Vivo X Note, which has been certified by 3C and TENAA recently. The datasheet is not yet complete, but sources in the production chain have released the first details.
The Vivo X Note can be advertised with a 7-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED display. This panel has QHD+ resolution and supports content up to 120 Hz. The use of a larger display indicates that Vivo wants to resurrect the phablet concept, something that has been abandoned by manufacturers.
As we are talking about a smartphone that is apparently dedicated to the high-end market, the Vivo X Note will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of internal storage.
The camera setup can be formed by a 50MP main lens, while the ultrawide can reach 48MP and the telephoto is 8MP (5x zoom). Finally, we should expect a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, as well as Android 12 running under the brand’s proprietary interface.
For now, Vivo has not confirmed the information. Thus, we emphasize that everything needs to be considered as just another market rumor.
