Vivo will launch its first small foldable phone, or vivo X Flip, this year, according to blogger Digital chat site Today.
The new product is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ chip and uses Taiwan Semiconductor’s 4nm manufacturing process. The Adreno GPU is also around 10% better than the Snapdragon 8.
While the performance is improved, the power consumption of Snapdragon 8+ is also greatly optimized. Compared with Snapdragon 8, the CPU power consumption of Snapdragon 8+ is reduced by about 30%, and the GPU power consumption is reduced by up to 30%. The overall power consumption of the platform is reduced by about 15% compared with Snapdragon 8.
Specifically, the Snapdragon 8+ can provide longer battery life than the Snapdragon 8 with the same battery capacity. According to Qualcomm, play time can be increased by nearly an hour; Video playback time increased by more than 80 minutes; Voice calls and wechat video calls on 5G networks increased by more than 5.5 hours and 25 minutes, respectively.
