After being one of the first manufacturers to use a retractable camera to increase the screen-to-body ratio, today, Vivo announced its new model of intermediate smartphone, the V17 Pro, the first smartphone with two pop-up digital cameras.
The highlight of the model is the selfie pop-up camera, which is revealed when entering the selfie mode of the camera. The Vivo V17 Pro has a 6.44 “Super AMOLED display, FHD + resolution and 20: 9 aspect ratio. These settings are all called by the manufacturer of Ultra FullView Display.
The display also has a digital screen reader and does not have the “notch” cut, very characteristic design on newer smartphones. Because the camera is docked in a “hidden” compartment, the screen is free for viewing only.
The dual camera features a 32MP main lens and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The pop-up module also features a speaker and a flash, called the “Selfie Softlight” to assist in low light selfie photography. The camera also features Night Selfie mode, which combines both lenses for best results.
At the rear is a four-camera setup, which combines 48MP (Sony IMX582), 13MP (2x zoom), 8MP ultrawide and 2MP auxiliary lenses. The 8MP lens can also capture macro mode images at a distance of up to 2.5cm.
In internal configurations, the device has Snapdragon 675 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and runs the Funtouch OS 9.1 operating system based on Android Pie. The device comes with features like Multi-Turbo and Game Mode.
The Vivo V17 Pro comes in Crystal Black and Crystal Sky colors and comes with a 4100mAh battery with fast charging (18W) support. The product hits the market for $420 and will go on sale in India from September 27.
