Vivo S9 with MediaTek Dimensity 1100 launched its first Geekbench 5 running score today, surpassing Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 in multi-core performance.
Vivo S9 will launch MediaTek’s Dimensity 1100 at a press conference on March 3rd. Dimensity 1100 is a high-end processor introduced by MediaTek in January 2021. It uses TSMC’s 6nm process process, four A78 2.6GHz cores and four A55 2.0GHz cores. The GPU uses ARM G77 MC9 and supports dual-channel UFS 3.1.
According to the running score, MediaTek’s Dimensity 1100 chip has a single core running score of 860 points and a multi-core running score of 3532 points, while Vivo’s upcoming model, which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip, has a single core running score of 1009 points and a multi-core running score of 3488 points.

The Dimensity 1100 has advantages over the Snapdragon 870 in terms of multiple cores, but is slightly inferior to Snapdragon 870 in terms of single cores. Considering that MediaTek’s price has always been superior, the Dimensity 1100 is worth looking forward to.
