According to Ukrainian media reports, the Dnipropetrovsk regional branch of the Ukrainian Tax Service issued a reminder that disposable electronic cigarette products will soon need to pay consumption tax.
The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, recently signed Bill 8287, imposing an electronic excise tax on e-cigarettes and other tobacco products, including e-cigarette vapes, from January 1, 2026.
In July, Ukraine said it would implement a ban on e-cigarettes with flavors other than tobacco (ENDS), which will come into effect on July 11.
In addition, from January 11, 2024, Ukraine will require a combination of text and picture warnings in 65 percent of the areas on both sides of the package. The fine for violations is 30,000 Ukrainian hryvnia ($812) and 50,000 Ukrainian hryvnia for each subsequent violation.
