On August 10, Russia’s well-known data research agency SuperJob released the latest survey results related to electronic cigarettes, in the survey from August 7 to 9, 2023, 65% of the Russian population over the age of 18 interviewed said that they support a total ban on the sale of electronic cigarettes, another 18% said that they do not support, 17% said that it is difficult to answer.
The data show that this is not the first time this trend has occurred.
In March, when Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said he was considering a proposal by deputies to ban the sale of e-cigarettes, a survey showed that 67 percent supported the measure, while 13 percent did not support it, and 20 percent said it was difficult to answer.
Earlier, in January 2023, the State Duma was discussing a proposal to ban the sale of e-cigarettes, and the support rate also reached 67%, while the non-support and difficult answer were 19% and 14%, respectively.
The survey covered 383 regions of Russia with 1,600 respondents and was conducted between August 7-9, 2023. These public opinion data reflect the national concern about e-cigarette sales policies, but also reflect people’s views and attitudes toward e-cigarettes for health.
