The Thinkrider A1 Trainer Bike measures your power and passes it on to Zwift. It is a simple indoor trainer. So this trainer is not smart. The resistance is not adapted to the slope of the virtual course. So you have to adjust your speed/power yourself by shifting lighter or heavier. In the settings of Zwift, you can set the trainer difficulty for a smart trainer. You should see the A1 bike trainer as a trainer with difficulty “off”. This direct drive trainer is a lot lighter than its big brother the Thinkrider X5 neo. The Thinkrider A1 is the cheapest direct-drive Zwift bicycle trainer.
Features
The Thinkrider A1 Trainer Bike is standardly suitable for bicycles with quick release. A thru-axle adapter is optionally available. The body is Shimano 11-speed compatible. The cassette is not included and can be ordered separately. Attention Campa riders, so your cassette will not fit on this trainer. To place 9 and 10 speed cassettes, an extra ring must be placed in between. This ring is included. To mount the cassette you need additional tools, namely a chain whip and a cassette remover. (tools and cassette are not included).
You can connect the bike trainer to a tablet or PC with Bluetooth or ANT+. Most PCs do not receive ANT+. If you also want to pass on your heart rate to Zwift, receiving an ANT+ is handy. The Thinkrider A1 is one of the cheapest ways to ride on Zwift. You can also use the ThinkRider A1 Power bike trainer with other cycling apps such as Bkool, Rouvy, Fulgaz. If you use a direct drive trainer indoors, the ultra-quiet turbo trainer (about 58dB) provides a smooth, near-silent ride, allowing you to train every day without disturbing those around you.
