According to the BBC on June 28, nearly half a million illegal electronic cigarettes have been seized in the Port of Dover since the beginning of the year.
In the Port of Dover, law enforcement officers seized 13,000 e-cigarettes in one week that contained more than nine times the allowed amount of nicotine. According to UK law, the amount of liquid in e-cigarettes is limited to 2ml (about 600 doses). However, these illegal products can be used up to 10,000 times, which is more than 10 times the legal capacity.
In addition, on June 27, a source told the two supremacist that the British Customs and the British Medicines and Health Products Authority (MHRA) in Heathrow Airport (LHR airport) to investigate a large number of electronic cigarette products. The source said, “The inspection is very strict, found directly confiscated, there is no chance to react.” In March this year, the MHRA and customs have carried out a joint law enforcement at the LHR airport, seizing a lot of products.
According to the Guardian, the Guardian has integrated public information from 125 local authorities in the UK and found that the UK Trading standards department has seized 2.5 million illegal e-cigarettes since the beginning of 2020.
