Suriname has banned the sale of all e-cigarette products. The South American country of Suriname has been added to the list of eight countries in South America that are joining the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) to ban the sale of new types of tobacco.
Following Venezuela’s recent ban on the use and marketing of e-cigarettes, 21 countries in the Americas now regulate electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) such as e-cigarettes and e-cigarettes, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday.
The eight new countries to join the initiative – Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela – have banned its sale entirely, PAHO said, while 13 others have partially or fully adopted one or more regulatory measures.
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) report states that 14 countries in the Americas, including the Caribbean, lack any regulation of e-cigarette products.
