While the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus still have to reach the shelves, physical or virtual, images of another Galaxy device have appeared online. It appeared as a model SM-G888 and the information was shared by Roland Quandt, a person known in this field.
Unfortunately, the device does not know anything except what you see in the images. Surely it is not a device designed to be sported at some important evening, but more for harsh environments. The image posted by Roland Quandt on the net shows the part of the back of the device and the absence of the sensor for the recognition of fingerprints.
The appearance would indicate an IP68 certification and compatible with MI-STD-810G which in turn strengthens the hypothesis of robust smartphone and relegates the choice to the two lines of the South Korean company for such devices. This is Xcover 5 or Galaxy S9 Active.
As suggested by those who provided the photos, it cannot be Galaxy S9 Active as the basic S9 have yet to be sold. Considering that the last Xcover was launched almost a year ago, the timing suggests that it is Xcover 5.
One of the photos shows the back panel of the smartphone. You can see a single camera accompanied by as many as 3 LEDs.The volume rocker placed on the left and power button set on the right side. Given the hypothetical nature of the device, it is difficult to think of the reason for this configuration, if not in really doing so much light in a very dark place. The only other thing that is known is that the touchscreen also works with gloves and that the battery is removable.
Unfortunately for the moment beyond this image have not emerged other details on this new device from Samsung. The hope is that in the coming days we hope to receive more information about it.
