On March 25, MINI announced that the new MINI COOPER Cabrio and its John COOPER Works version are arriving in stores soon.
This is also the first time that the new MINI JCW Cabrio will enter the Chinese market.
It is reported that the new MINI COOPER Cabrio body adopts the iconic three-stage color contrast design, the whole series is equipped with the standard grey Union Jack soft top, when the convertible is fully opened, the Union Jack pattern and the classic Union Jack taillights complement each other, the new car offers 11 color schemes.
Its automatic fabric soft top has two opening modes, under 30km/h, open only 18 seconds, close 15 seconds, and can be opened as a skylight at any speed, travel up to 40cm.
The circular OLED central screen in the car retains the “convertible timer” function to record the convertible time and weather information.
Optional windshields are available behind the driver and passenger seats, anti-roll protection is integrated behind the rear headrests, and the chassis and door panels are reinforced.
The seat’s perforated “M” pattern, the raised central storage area, and the thick central armrest all bear the MINI’s signature.
Following the classic Mini design, the rear door can be placed flat as a rear stool, and when the soft top is closed, the trunk capacity is increased from 160 litres to 215 litres.
In terms of power, the new MINI COOPER S convertible is equipped with a BMW Group B48 engine with a maximum power of 150 kW /204 HP, a peak torque of 300 n · m, a 100 km acceleration in 6.9 seconds, and a top speed of 230 km/h.
The new MINI JCW Cabrio uses power technology derived from the BMW M, with a maximum engine power of 170 kW /231 HP, a peak torque of 380 N · m, and a speed of 100 km in 6.4 seconds.
