Smartphone manufacturers experiment with new forms and technologies. These include TCL, which has already shown some interesting screen folding concepts in the past. Today the network is circulating the rendering of a TCL device with a ” slide-out ” screen, showing something that nobody expected.
These renderings show an unnamed TCL smartphone that presents a new concept of ” folding “. The device, unlike the Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X, does not fold at all but slides out to reveal more space on the screen, thus becoming a tablet.
The specs are unknown, but somehow TCL designed this device to slide a larger screen into the device. Presumably, the additional screen folds inside the device somewhere, something that would likely make the phone as a whole thicker.
Apparently, we could have seen it in person at MWC 2020 if the event hadn’t been canceled following the concerns of the coronavirus COVID-19. It is unclear when TCL plans to officially announce this device or show it to the press.
