In addition to Samsung and Huawei, Xiaomi has also launched its first foldable phone, and reports suggest that Oppo, Vivo and Honor are all likely to launch foldable phones this year. In short, consumers will have more choices. On April 15, TCL also unveiled its own fold-screen concept, called the “Fold ‘n’ Roll.” Unlike ordinary fold-down phones, this phone combines two fold-up screens: folding and pulling up.
The Fold ‘n’ Roll itself, which folds out of the screen, measures 6.87 inches, expands to 8.85 inches, and further stretches to 10 inches, according to the introduction. The folding structure of the phone also adopts hinge design, stretching design is a little similar to OPPO or LG’s approach, stretching the main part is the left part of the expanded, while the mobile phone adopts the design of digging screen.
As for the camera module on the back of the phone, it is reported that due to the limited design of the folding screen, it must be spread out before it can be used, otherwise it will be covered by the folded part. TCL has not disclosed any specific details about the Fold ‘n ‘Roll and is unable to confirm whether the concept phone will become commercially available.
