Yesterday, Sony announced the flagship duo – the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. These are the second Snapdragon 845 chipset phones after the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at MWC 2018. Also, the new Xperia phones are the first smartphones from the company to arrive with 18:9 aspect ratio display. Unlike the predecessor Xperia phones, the XZ2 and XZ2 Compact come with unique design.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Design
Sony Xperia XZ2 features a 5.7-inch display that supports FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Japanese tech giant has managed to fit a larger display in a smaller body by cutting down the bezels around the display. The front and rear sides of the Xperia XZ2 is flanked with Gorilla Glass 5 sheets and there is a metallic frame in between. It comes with an IP68 certification like predecessor Xperia flagship.
It has a unique placement of fingerprint scanner unlike phones from other companies. It is positioned towards the center which indicates that it has been placed in such a manner that it can be easily accessed by the index finger. The handset sports a curved rear. Liquid Black, Liquid Silver, Deep Green and Ash Pink are its color variants.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is packed with a 5-inch FHD+ display and it also offers 18:9 aspect ratio. The elongated compact-sized phone has smaller bezels. Its rear and front sides are made out of polycarbonate. It sports the same curvy rear and centered positioning of the fingerprint reader like the XZ2. Black, White Silver, Moss Green and Coral Pink are its color variants.
