Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra, the alleged new mid-range phablet of the Japanese brand, has appeared in the first detailed 5K render images and in a video-render that shows it at 360 degrees. Just yesterday it was the younger brother Xperia XA3 to show up and today the same treatment was reserved for the Ultra model from MySmartPrice in collaboration with the famous leaker OnLeaks.
In light of what happens with the current Sony devices of mid-range, namely Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra, which have some basic features in common, it is reasonable to expect that also the new Xperia XA3 Ultra and Xperia XA3 will be similar under some aspects.
The first renderings of the new alleged Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra, called to collect the inheritance of the current XA2 Ultra, are of good quality and allow to understand in detail the presumable aesthetic setting. The aforesaid renderings highlight a significant reduction of the frame upper and lower compared to the predecessor, which result in a significant improvement in the ratio between the display diagonal and the overall size of the device.
As for the size, however, those of the new smartphone from Sony should be 167.4 x 73.3 x 8.3 mm, so far from contained. Similar to what we saw yesterday in the Xperia XA3 renderings, the Ultra model also features a decidedly protruding rear camera. As for the aforementioned diagonal of the display, the new Ultra model should mount a panel of 6.5 inches in Full HD resolution + (1080 x 2160 pixels) and a form ratio of 18: 9.
The growth, both in terms of size and the diagonal of the display, compared to Xperia XA2 Ultra is not insignificant, given that the model currently on the list has a display from “only” 6 inches and measures 163 x 80 x 9.5mm. Certainly from these numbers we see the important work done by the manufacturer in reducing the space occupied by the frames: net of a display that promises to be bigger than 0.5 inches, Xperia XA3 Ultra should be so higher than the predecessor, but also considerably narrower and thinner.
On the right side of the smartphone, the renderings indicate the presence of the Power button, those for the volume adjustment and finally the increasingly rare but always welcome button dedicated to the camera. Since the fingerprint reader is not present on the back of the alleged Xperia XA3 Ultra, Sony may have opted for a return to the past, re-proposing the solution that sees the sensor integrated into the power button.
For the rest, on the lower side is the USB Type-C port, while on the upper side the 3.5mm audio jack. As for the back, called the absence of the fingerprint reader, in the upper part, in a centralized position, there is a double camera with the sensors arranged horizontally and the double LED flash positioned a little higher.
If you are not satisfied with these renderings, take a look at the following video, which gives us a 360-degree view of the likely design of Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra.
As for the data sheet and any peculiarities, today’s is the first (alleged) sighting of the new Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra, so the information available is almost nil. However, it is worth mentioning that a benchmark leaked a few weeks ago suggested the presence, both under the hood of Xperia XA3 and the older brother, of Qualcomm ‘s Snapdragon 660. As for the memory cuts, the new Sony phablet could reach 6GB of RAM and, similar to the predecessor, 64GB of storage. As for the software, it is reasonable to expect the presence of Android 9 Pie out of the box.
The new Sony Xperia XA3 Ultra and Xperia XA3 should be presented towards the end of the year, or more likely next January, perhaps at CES 2019.
