Sony is only preparing for the announcement of the Xperia 5 II smartphone. Meanwhile, the network continues to accumulate details about the new product. This time, a promotional video dedicated to the Sony Xperia 5 II has been posted on YouTube and reveals many of the characteristics of the smartphone.
It was published by Distinguished Network Leader Evan Blass with years of experience in leaking. Video is taken from official company marketing materials. The video highlights the multimedia and gaming capabilities of the phone. The phone is so versatile that you can enjoy your favorite movies and music, and handle just about anything you throw at it.
Its display is a 6.1-inch Full HD + unit (21: 9 aspect ratio), compatible with HDR and OLED technology. It is to be refreshed at a frequency of 120 Hz, and a built-in digitizer for the touch interface at a frequency of 240 Hz. Despite this, the phone should be relatively small: its dimensions are 158 x 68 x 8 mm.
The heart of the device is the Snapdragon 865 chip with 8GB RAM and 128GB of memory (expandable via a microSD card), so its performance should satisfy even a demanding user. There will be no compatibility with 5G networks. A long time without connecting the charger is to be provided by a 4000mAh battery with a USB-PD fast-charging system. What’s nice, there will be a headphone jack.
The main camera consists of three modules: ultra wide-angle (12MP, f / 2.2, focal length 16, 124 °), wide-angle (12MP, f / 1.7, 24 mm, 82 °), and telephoto (12MP, f / 2.4, 3x zoom). It will also be possible to record videos in 4K with HDR at 120 fps. There were also image stabilization mechanisms: OIS and EIS for video and the proprietary hybrid solution Optical SteadyShot for photos.
Blass also confirmed that the Xperia 5 II will be unveiled by Sony at an event on September 17, 2020. According to reporters from PhoneArena, the price tag of the Xperia 5 II could reach $999. This is already $200 higher than the starting price of the Xperia 5.
