Sourcing Sony official news, Sony Semiconductor Solutions (SSS) announced today that it will release a 1/3-inch CMOS image sensor IMX675 for security cameras, about 5.12 Megapixels, which can simultaneously achieve Full-pixel output for capturing an overall image and high-speed output for regions of interest.
According to reports, this CMOS sensor utilizes Dual Speed Streaming technology to output all pixels in the captured image at a rate of up to 40 frames per second, while simultaneously outputting a specific area of interest set by the user at high speed. With this image sensor, a single camera can not only provide a comprehensive image of the scene but also support high-speed identification of specific objects with a high level of detail.
The new sensor also features SSS’ exclusive STARVIS technology, which features high sensitivity and high dynamic range, and thanks to a proprietary stack structure, power consumption is approximately 30% lower than conventional models.
