Qualcomm will introduce the Snapdragon 875 (codenamed Lahaina) on December 1st. Apple has already introduced the Bionic A14, as well as the Huawei Kirin 9000. They are all based on a 5-nm manufacturing process. We also expect a response from Samsung in the form of a competitive Exynos 2100.
On the Chinese social network Weibo, the famous Leakster Digital Chat Station has released part of the Snapdragon 875 specifications. The CPU has a total of eight cores, prime Cortex-X1 at 2.84 GHz, three Cortex-A78 at 2.42 GHz, and four Cortex-A55 at 1, 8 GHz. The “super” core of the Cortex-X1 offers a 23% better performance than the Cortex-A78.
The Snapdragon 875 comes with an advanced GPU chip – the Adreno 660 as well as an integrated Qualcomm X-60 5G modem. In terms of performance, it should overshadow all the competition, but that has yet to wait.
Two days ago, a screenshot of the AnTuTu benchmark for Snapdragon 875 appeared, the result is impressive. If this score is truly authentic, a significant jump in performance is visible. On the AnTuTu benchmark, the test device scored a total of 899,401 points, 333,269 points for the CPU, and 342,225 for the GPU. He scored 98,772 on the memory test and 125,135 on the storage test.
It should be taken into account that these are early results, achieved in the prototype, and all this should be taken with a grain of salt. The first phone equipped with a Snapdragon 875 chip should be the Samsung Galaxy S21 and in China the Xiaomi Mi 11.
