After Snapdragon 888, Qualcomm’s second 5nm 5G SoC is said to be coming.
According to the latest news, the chip will be called the Snapdragon 788 Mobile Platform, not the Snapdragon 777 or the Snapdragon 775/775G.
Qualcomm is very generous and has decided to use Samsung’s 5nm EUV technology to build this SoC. The built-in Kryo 600 series CPU supports LPDDR5-3200 memory or LPDDR4X-2400 memory, UFS 3.1 flash memory, etc.
Camera integration Spectra 570 ISP supports up to three 28 megapixel lenses, 4K 60FPS video shooting, etc. The wireless part includes Wi-Fi 6E with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, etc.
In terms of 5G frequency band, it only contains SUB 6GHz, while 4G meets CAT.18, and supports 5G dual card and dual standby, etc.
Qualcomm has previously said that the Snapdragon 888 name is related to China, and it has a good meaning. I believe this is why the Snapdragon 788 exists, after all, it will be a mainstay of domestic smartphone sales.
