Recently Qualcomm has disclosed the Snapdragon 700 series and this series processor will be more powerful and power efficient than the 600 series, however, a bit lesser than 800 series processor. The 700 series processor is aimed to focus on the mid-range devices. The 1st pair of processors which will be launched is the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 730.
So now we are wondering how the Snapdragon 710 Vs 730 differs from each other? this article is all regarding the difference between the 2 new SOCs from the mobile market leader Qualcomm. thus here we are going to compare the specifications of snapdragon 710 Vs snapdragon 730.
The Snapdragon 710 is simply an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 670. thus we can say that there’s no such factor as snapdragon 670 as of now. The Snapdragon 710 is anticipated to bring a major level of performance increment.
Snapdragon 710 will be designed using the Samsung designed 10 nm (LPE) Low Power Early node and this processor will support Bluetooth 5.0 and 2 x 2 MU-MIMO dual-band WiFi. Breaking down the cores, the Snapdragon 710 consists of 2 big cores and 6 little cores to have a right mix of performance and power consumption. a pair of Kryo 3xx cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 x Kryo 3xx cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The Snapdragon 710 will be featured with Adreno 615 GPU that may be clocked as high as 750MHz.
On the other hand, the Snapdragon 730 will be built mistreatment the Samsung’s 8 nm LPP. Samsung had already told last year that its 8nm LPP was prepared for production. The 8 nm LPP uses 10 less power than the 10 nm LPP. Moreover, the previous one has 10 less surface area. connectivity features are same on both Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 730, but the later one will feature Bluetooth 5.1 instead of Bluetooth 5.0.
But the main distinction between the 2 processors lies in the CPU configuration. The Snapdragon 730 has a pair of x kryo 4xx cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and 6 x kryo 4xx cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. each SoC can share a similar GPU Adreno 615.
Moving ahead, the Snapdragon 710 will support 60+ fps UI for QHD displays and will also be HDR10 compliant. it has a Spectra of 250 ISP to support up to the 32MP camera with 3 concurrent sensors. This SoC will work with UFS 2.1, eMMC storage types and USB 3.1 and USB 2.0 ports. There won’t be any NPU unit thus all the machine learning tasks will be performed by the GPU and hexagon digital processor Vector eXtensions (HVX).
The Snapdragon 730 has a similar support for displays like Snapdragon 710. The Snapdragon 730 feature spectra 350 that supports up to 32 MP camera with 3 concurrent sensors along with FS2 sensor support. both Snapdragon 730 and snapdragon 710 have the same video encoding support and storage type supports. but they do differ in the AI features. The Snapdragon 730 features a dedicated NPU to handle machine learning tasks.
Both Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 730 are probably to be disclosed by the end of 2018. we aren’t possible to see any smartphone powered by Snapdragon 710 and 730 processor by the end of this year. this time we might see a notched display on a Xiaomi device and it is reported that Xiaomi is working on 2 smartphones with the codename ‘Comet’ and ‘Sirius’ to feature Snapdragon 710.
