We recently reported that Aquos S3, the next top-of-the-line smartphone from Japan’s Sharp, had been certified by TENAA, a Chinese regulatory agency equivalent to our National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). This time we have good news for anyone who was looking forward to the gadget: the manufacturer has just announced that the gadget will be presented on January 16th. It is interesting to note that the company will hold its own event instead of launching at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. The Aquos S3 should be the first Sharp phone to have an infinite screen, and it lacks edges on its front face.
Seems that the Aquos S3, according to the NCC certificate, has a model number of FS8032. It also seems that this new terminal will have a vertical Dual camera and a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back. This phone appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking site with a good Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB of RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, which incidentally scored 880 points in the single-core test and 4237 in the multi-core test.
In the previous month, TENAA certified a Sharp device with the model number FS8015, which not only the specifications but also the images agree with the certification of the NCC. so this could indicate that the FS8015, is the same FS8032 which in turn would be the same Sharp Aquos S3.
According to the TENAA listing, the phone has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. As said, the phone will feature a full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It has the Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 chipset. It will also come in models like 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage. For photography, it has a configuration of the Dual camera of 12MP and 13MP on its back panel, while it is equipped with a front camera of 16MP. It comes equipped with a 3,100 mAh battery and the smartphone will be running Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.
According to rumors, the Sharp Aquos S3 will hit the market exclusively in black. As for the pricing, the device is expected to come with a price tag between $263 and $290.
