Senseglove recently announced that their new generation VR haptic glove Nova 2 will ship worldwide. According to Senseglove, it is the world’s first and so far the only wireless VR haptic glove on the market that supports palm feedback.
The Nova 2 cleverly combines three cutting-edge haptic feedback technologies into a lightweight, wireless design.
Among them, the active contact feedback technology brings the user a realistic feeling of palm collision and grip; Force feedback can accurately simulate the size and hardness of virtual objects, so that people feel like they are in the real world. The vibration feedback technology provides basic texture cues and enhances immersion.
Senseglove stressed that the Nova 2 performs well in VR training and is particularly good at simulating various dynamic objects touched by the palm. Whether it is a drill, power tools such as a chainsaw, or rehabilitation equipment, the Nova 2 can accurately restore the real touch, providing users with an unprecedented experience.
Compared to its predecessor, the Nova Generation, the Nova 2 also features significant improvements in finger tracking. By measuring the cable extension, it is able to more accurately record the movements of the thumb, middle and ring fingers, giving users a more nuanced and realistic gesture recognition experience.
It’s worth noting, however, that the Nova 2 is not a product for the average consumer. At present, it has won the favor of many well-known enterprises and institutions such as Volkswagen, ESA, Cambridge University, which have adopted Nova’s initial products for VR training and research.
As for the price, the Nova 2 is priced at a whopping $5,999, but Senseglove says it will offer a corresponding discount for customers who buy in bulk.
